H&M Foundation – A New Digital Home

Wireframes • Prototyping • UI Design

H&M Foundation supports initiatives accelerating change toward a more sustainable and equal world, communicated through news, research, and ongoing programs. In 2021, I built a new website to give that mission a digital home capable of matching its scope.

The Challenge

As lead designer on the project, my responsibility was to design a website capable of handling dense written content, including news articles and deep, multi-layered information structures, without overwhelming visitors. The challenge was structural: the site needed to hold a large and growing volume of content while remaining intuitive to navigate, regardless of device.

My Approach

I took a clean, straightforward design approach, starting with wireframes to map out a structure that could scale with the content, articles, deep information trees, and evolving initiatives, without becoming a maze for visitors. I worked closely with engineers throughout development to make sure the design held up in the browser and stayed just as clear on a phone as on a desktop, and stayed in close contact with H&M Foundation to ensure the site remained true to their voice as new content and priorities came in.

The Result

The result is a site that makes a genuinely complex amount of information feel simple to navigate, a digital home built to match the scale of what H&M Foundation is working to achieve.
